Straighten Your Image
Any good editor allows you to make your image right. This is very critical as an unbalanced picture, unless it is intended to be that way, an amateur feel to it. You want your pictures as professional looking as possible, right? I have both Photoshop and Picasa 3, and I actually prefer the Straighten tool in Picasa 3. It is very easy to use, and you lose none of the picture the way you do when you use the straightening tool in Photoshop.
Crop Your Image
Now that your image is straightened, if your image is perfect, leave it! But if there’s something you do not want in your image, crop it out! The focus of your photo to your topic, if too much activity around the subject, crop the image down, so the focus is where you want it to be.
Customize your Contrast
Adjust the darkness / lightness of your digital photos. If you use Picasa 3, open your image, and an edit box will appear on the left. Click “Auto Contrast” to see what an effect it has on your image. If you find you do not like the effect just click “Undo Auto Contrast”.
Set your colors
Sometimes the colors are not exactly come as sharp and clear as you want. You can do amazing things with the editors for this problem! Picasa 3 has a very simple “Auto Color” tool that can bring out the best in your image.
If you choose to use your Picasa 3 image editing, if you are already using the four steps you need to save changes. To do this, click the “Back to Library” button in the upper left corner. Look to the right, and you will see a button “save to disk” to see. Click that button and all your changes are applied to your image. It’s so easy!
Picasa 3 has other great features for editing, too. It offers a red-eye tool to narrow the search to remove red eye from your image, and also a tool for filling light images was just a little too dark.
